My 1993 Chevy van starts up easily. However it is very difficult to get it out of park after it starts up. I'm thinking that I have a bad neutral safty switch. Where is this componant located and how do I replace it?

The switch is not anything that will cause binding, just starting in a particular gear.

First thing I would check is for any binding linakge between the shifter and the transmission. If all looks good, disconnect the linkage at the transmision and then try the shifter for movement. IF it move fine, the problem is internal in the trans. If it still binds, it source is between the shifter and the transmission.
