Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Chevy Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i had to take the oil pump out to replace the shaft guild. I need to set the timing as well as the firing order. Can I bring the #1 cylinder to top dead center and point the roter of the distributer? Or is there a easer solution. This is a 5.7 350. Thanks

Welcome, If the dist. was pulled without marking anything, I'd put the number one cylinder on tdc of compression stroke, lead the rotor into the number one plug tower. The timing spec is zero.
