Gentlemen,
My van has an intermittant engine surge which occurs when engine is hot or cold. I have had a recent tune up, new filters, new fuel pump and two diagnostic computer checks, all to no avail. It sometimes does not occur until the next day. When it does run properly, the engine idles and runs beautifully. Thank you for any help with this annoying situation.

Hi:
If there are no codes and you replaced the fuel pump, then I would be looking for a vacuum leak. Is this a 305 CI V8? If so, check around the intake for leaks. Also, check the EGR to make sure it isn't sticking.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

The engine is a 350ci fuel injected. We have checked for leaks several times. The EGR valve was replaced during the tune up. Appreciate any other ideas. Thanks

The only thing I can think of is a bad TPS or IAC. The problem is without a check engine light and a code, I can't be sure.
