Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Chevy Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Van was running fine. Parked it for a couple of weeks and 1 yr. old battery went dead. Attempted to jump start but it wont crank at all. Headlights are bright and dash gauge shows about 10 volts when jump cables are connected.

possible causes, bad ground, bad starter solonoid, or bad starter. If you hear a clicking when you try to start the van then the started would be bad. If no click when you try to start it take a look at the wires on the starter solonoid. Have seen a wire just being a little loose not making good connection. With it sitting a couple of week I would check the charging system when you get it started.
