85 Chevy Van with 305 engine and automatic transmission will justjerk and lose power on slightest hill.Runs great otherwise. If I never get van over 40 mph it will pull fine.I have changed fuel filter,plugs wires cap button. What could be causing this?

on a 85 it could be the timing, a vacuum leak, clogged carb, a shorting spark plug wire.
