My water pump is failing. It is leaking coolant through the weep hole as one might expect. I only drive it about 10 miles one way to work. I was told I could continue driving it as long as I kept water in the radiator and did not let the engine get hot according to the gauges. The only exception would be if the belt started squealing indicating it would soon lock up. Is it true I can drive it as long as it does not squeal and stays cool.

My best advise to you is best replace it the water pump is a goner -you don't want to deal with a major repair to wait for a squeal to occur
