Timing an 1990 5.7

Hi all my 1990 gmc is timed at 0 degrees btdc if I went to 2 degrees how much performance is gained and would I notice a change in power thanks.

You want more power use a 10K ohm resistor bridge the coolant temperature sensor connector this will fool the computer of thinking the engine is cold and wants fuel at all times-in other words it won't go in closed loop for the O2 sensor to take over the fuel demand.

If you time your vehicle to 8-10 degrees your motor will run better. Then make sure your spark advance is working and check to see how much advance you are getting when you rev the motor up.
