Just finished putting heads back on and forgot how to set timing. It has been a while since the last time I tore an engine down and put it back together.
I have number one piston up and intake valve is open.

I have number one piston up and intake valve is open. Wrong -both valves should be close and rocker arms are rocking when no.1 is on the compression stroke-You are in the intake stroke of no.1

BMR this illustration looks crooked for a V8 chevy engine-don't you think so. I got a good one but couldn't find it we might have to comeback and correct this out it sure looks weird-We wait and see-
