1994 Chevy C1500, 4.3L, 131xxx miles. Installed the sending unit next to t-stat. Question, how do I get the check engine light off (original coolant temp sensor now out of the picture) and how do I disconnect the original temp gauge (it is bad and keeps flucuating wildly and when it hits 280 degree turns on the check gauges light.

That 2 wire coolant sensor HAS to be there, it is what the ECM uses for mixture control and is why the check engine light is on. The temp sender (single wire) is in the cylinder head, drivers side if I remember correctly.

Well that explains why ever since I inserted the aftermarket temp. gauge's sending unit inplace of the coolant sensor the truck has been running extremely rich, stalls, and floods really easy after it warms up.

Just want to make sure. The Temp Sender (driver's side cylinder head) controls only the temp. gauge and that is the one I replace with the sending unit that comes with the aftermarket temp gauge. Is there any other temp. sensor/sending unit (other then those 2) that I am not aware of? Is there anything else connected to the sending unit that I need to be aware of?

Another subject. Lately when I turn the ignition key on (or off) or hit the Max. A/C button there is a clicking sound which lasts for about 20-30 seconds coming from behind the lower dash (pax side). I'm sure it is related to the A/C system. Any ideas?

The two wire must stay. The single wire in the head is the one you want to replace, but not the one with the squeeze type connector, that is the knock sensor. The knock sensor has a mushroom shaped end on the sensor, it has to stay. The clicking is the blend door actuator, get under the dash and turn on the key, there is a flat motor that controls the blend door that has gone bad. When key is off, it defaults one direction, what you are hearing is the motor trying to go the other way. Dealer should have them in stock
