I've got a 98 chev pickup 2wd 4.3.
It keeps giving me a code 338.
Its now at the point where it almost impossible to drive which is why I'm getting frustrated cause I have checked everything except the wiring, I'm getting the vehicle back tomorrow so I will check for shorts in and connection problems in the circuit to the module and the pcm.
I've tried a new crank sensor, no go.
I normally have distributor problems so I changed that. no go. normally I get a crankshaft camshaft correlation code when its a distributor problem.
I thought possible timing chain slack cause my cam retard is bouncing around -10 to -11. which I know isnt right. should be 0 to -4. Any ideas would be great thank you.
