My 89 Silverado is starting hard. Ive tried filling with new gas, changed the battery, the cable going to the starter motor and im still starting hard. It clicks then itll start to turn over. But it wont turn over very fast. Then it fires and starts but after like 30 seconds to a minutes worth of trying. The only mod it has is its been rechipped. Its the 305 with TBI.
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like th estarter is going out. Sometimes they will start drawing huge amounts of amps to turn the motor when they are shorted. Be Careful. This can cause a battery explosion

I thought the solenoid is going. But would it be better to simply replace the starter?I was thinking of buyin a MSD starter but I didnt want to if I dont need it.

Give them year, make, model and the 8th digit of the VIN #
Dont hold the key in the crank position for very long, that heats up the cables and can short the battery
