Chevrolet Silverado. I am getting water in the box that contains my fan motor for the heater underneath the glove box. My drains do not seem to be clogged. Where is the water coming from?

Same problem. Actually it destroyed my heater one winter. Mechanic told me it was a design flaw in the 1998 model Silverado.

To cut back on the amount of water that gets into the heater turn all the knobs (air temperature, fan direction, fan speed) all the way left or counter clockwise. Then push in the "air circulation button."

That's what the mechanic told me to do. Some water still gets in but not nearly as much.

Good luck

Good morning,

Clear water leaking into the heater box usually comes from the outside. Make sure the windshield seals are in good condition.

Also, make sure the cowl by the windshield is free of all leaves and debris. You may have to remove the cowl and clean out the inside as all that debris may be holding open the outside vent door.
