Hello all I have a 98 chevy 1500 truck and the fuel pump went out. I have just bought a new one but not the assembly just the pump motor. Lastnight I put it in and went to start is and it wouldnt? The fuel filter has less than 1000 miles on it and there was 3/4 tank of gas. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and turned the key on and it only had 10 psi. I have read that they should have between 60 to 66 psi. Would it be safe to say the new pump I bought is junk? Thank you for any help Scott

If they sold you just a pump then its probably for a TBI engine. The correct pump for your truck is a complete tank module
