My fan for air/heat works on high only. The local auto parts store said that this was the blower motor resistor part. Where is the blower motor resistor located? If it is under the dash can it be replaced w/o having to take the dash apart?

The blower motor resistor is usually located in or right close to the blower motor Usually you'll notice that the switch feels looser than normal when you use it. Here is the location of the blower motor speed control module (resistor) below.

I went to the local Chevrolet dealer & had the parts department print off their diagram of where the blower motor resistor was.I then followed their diagram & took the radio, control panel for fan & cd player out & it was not there! I gave in & took it to a mechanic. To get to the blower motor resistor on a 1995 Chevy Tahoe take out the glove compartment & behind it you will see lots of black plastic covering. The upper left of that platic has a metal bracket bolted there w/some wires. Disconnect the wires & remove the bracket & slide your hand up over that spot where the bracket was & there it is! No where near where Molle Chevrolet said! 2 bolts & a wire plug hold it on. Take them out & put new on - it is a tight fit but can be done.
