My van has cylinders that's constantly missing. I've been trying to find the misses but can't. I've done a compression test and the cylinders appear with good compression. the van has no power. I just don't know how many cylinders are missing. thanks for your help in this matter.

start the van pull one wire off at a time untill you hear no changes in the engine, when you find it pull the plug and check the plug and wire. or you can swap the plug from another cylinder to see if it swaps cylinders. a plug doesnt have to look bad to be bad.

hello: the best thing to do is a general tune up. get new wires, cap, rotor, plugs etc. Get a new air cleaner also. Once that is done you might find it will run quite well. If it still misses, then we will look for the problem.
good luck

Suggested Repair

With the engine running, disconnect one spark plug wire at a time until engine sound does not change; that identifies a dead cylinder. Inspect and test that plug and wire, noting a plug can fail even if it looks fine. Swap the plug with one from another cylinder to see if the miss follows it. A general tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and air cleaner was also suggested; if the miss remains, continue diagnosis.

Conversation Summary

The owner reports a van with a 350 small-block Chevy that constantly misfires and has no power. Compression tested good, but the number of missing cylinders is unknown. An expert advised pulling plug wires one at a time to find the cylinder that does not change engine sound, then checking that plug and wire or swapping plugs to see if the miss moves. Another reply recommended a general tune-up with new wires, cap, rotor, plugs, and air cleaner, then further diagnosis if the miss continues.
