The needle on my speed gauge was acting sticky

the needle on my speed gauge was acting sticky.one week later I kicked off cruiscontroll I was slowing down but needle climed 15 mph. when I parked needle was stuck at 15 mph cycled key on off three times needle returned to 0 .still have orignal problem .what senses vehical speed. and are these gauge pakages prone to failuarl

most likely you will need to replace the dash cluster. thats the only thing that can cause that to happen.

Funny that this question comes up today...I was at BMRFIXIT's shop today and he was replacing a cluster on a 2003 checvy, yes they are prone to fail, but they cost about 300.00....and that's rebuilt!
