the truck starts idles for a few seconds then dies. ido this a few times thenit wont start. i wait a few and it will start and idle. if i give it gas , it sputters a little then dies. i think its fuel pump? but iam not sure and i think they are now in the fuel tank? the truck does have a utility bed on it.

You should start by checking fuel pump pressure. Here is a how to for checking presure.

Also, make sure the security light isn't staying on when you try to start it.
