Transmission problem
2001 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I removed all of the bolts but was unable to remove the pan after seperating it from the gasket.

Mostly shift linkage bracket in the way.
It look like it is held on by 2 fasteners from the top on the right side of the transmission.

The fasteners have a round head and are well hidden.
How do I get them out and what kind of tool do I use?

How do I disconnect the shift cable from the ball end on the shift leaver?

The pan is about 3" deep.
Exhaust pipe runs across the back side.
It is in the way also.

there should be nothing in the way of the pan, I have done this before, if you do not have the proper tools, like a 1/4 inch ratchet with a swivel. It will be hard to get the rear bolts by the exhaust pipe, you may have to unbolt the rear of the transmission and raise it up with the Jack to remove the rear bolts on the pan.
