When I turn the key to start the truck a whizzing noise has started that I have been told may be the fuel pump or injector going out. The truck does not turn over easily now and I was told not enough gas is getting into the carbeurator for it to start quickly. Is it fuel pump or fuel injector and how much does it generally cost to get repaired including labor? Thanks.

if the truck isnt turning over as good it may be a starter problem. it will also make a whinning noise.

first id recomend testing starter before you spend unnecasary money.

Suggested Repair

Test the starter before replacing the fuel pump or injectors. Hard cranking and a whining noise can indicate a starter problem, so confirm the starter before spending money on fuel-system repairs.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 2000 Chevy Tahoe reported a whizzing noise when turning the key and said the truck no longer starts easily. They had been told it might be a failing fuel pump or injector and that not enough fuel was reaching the carburetor, and they asked which part was at fault and the typical repair cost including labor. The expert said the symptoms may indicate a starter problem, which can also cause a whining noise, and recommended testing the starter before spending money on other repairs.
