I HAVE A 1999 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 4WD WITH A 4.8 F/I. WHEN ENGINE IS COLD AND STARTED IT RUNS FINE BUT ONCE IT IS WARM AND SHUT IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND STARTED AGAIN IT STALLS DOWN AND BACKFIRES. IF YOU LET OFF ON IT IT STOPS. ONCE YOU GET THROUGH IT IT RUNS FINE UNTIL YOU SHUT IT OFF AGAIN. HAVE CHECKED WITH CODE READER AND IT THROWS NO CODES. NOT SURE WHERE TO START.THANKS LRW.

U might want to get the Temp. Sending Unit checked out. i know i was having some problems with my 4.8l.. turns out that my problem was the Mass Airflow Sensor. But i was trying every thing, had in numerous shops. so i was trying stuff. i disconected the temp. sending unit and had a hell of a time getting it started again. pretty easy to tell if that is the problem, the temp. gauge in the cab will say it's cold when it isn't
