1999 Chevy Truck brake light problem

When I slightly push down my brake pedal my brake lights come on but if I push the pedal down any farther then they go out. I have a feeling that its the switch but not sure. Wondering if you've ever seen this before or might be able to help. It would be very much appreciated. thanks

Hi there,

This is sounding like a switch problem,best to check the current flow with a multi meter, and if faulty replace it.
