Sometimes when I start my truck, after it has been sitting, It sounds like a dry start. The oil has been change religeously with the recogmended grade. Using Valvoline High Millage Synthetic Blend and Pure One Filters.
Do I need to replace the oil pump?

Hi there,

This may be a case of the oil filter draining back, your choice of oil filter is one I am not familiar with in Aust, I would be checking that they are fitted with a non return valve, if not check for a filter that dose. Your dry start is just the filter re filling with oil then the pressure builds up, the pump should be fine, it would also be a good idea to have the oil pressure tested during start up as this will give a better indication as to pump condition.
