I drive a 1998 Chevy 1500 and I plan to go to the drive in movies this weekend and if my battery dies and I get a jump do I have to go and buy a new battery?

getting a jump doesnt mean your battery is ruined, nor does jumping it ruin a battery.

make sure that yoru alternator is charging properly.
