I am considering buying a 1998 c2500 chevy with a known problem, it is getting coolant in the oil, I know this is classic blown head gasket, cracked head, or cracked block, however I have also heard this can be from a bad intake gasket, Is that true? Obviously I want to keep the repair costs to a min.
Thanks

I would wager on the intake gasket doing it. Those engines do crack heads (thin wall castings), but I cant recall seeing that cause water in the oil before, usually water consumption, miss in the morning.
