In the summer my truck's idle would start at 1000RPM on start up and would settle after 5 min at 600 rpm

Now winter has come its always -3 Celcius out and now its starts a 1000RPM and wont settle at 600 rpm now it sits a 1000-900 but will settle when engaged into ODrive goes to normal 600 rpm new EGR valve last summer

take out the idle air control motor. its gonna have to idle a bit higher for longer due to the temperature now.

clean up the iac when you get it out. also start checking for vaccum leaks. use a can of carbuerator cleaner.

This actually turned out too be a faulty O2 post cat sensor this was the tell tale sign before the engine light came on in the dash stating the error code in emissions control module
