My son had just put gas into the truck, as he tried to start the truck back up, it would crank, but not run. I have checked the fuel pump, and it is working. I also changed out the oil sending switch, and fuel filter. I borrowed a scanner and the computer would not link, so I replaced the computer. After replacing the computer, the symptoms were the same. I also have checked the vacuum hoses and the electrical harnesses and fuses. I sprayed stater fluid into the carburator and the engine would run as long as I continued to spray. I understand it could be a security code malfunction, but I need help! Please reply while I still have a few hairs left on my head.

Hello,

It sounds like a fuel issue with the vehicle. As you can make the engine run with starter fluid.
You might have an issue with the fuel pressure regulator. Over time with all the heat and vibration the internals of the regulator can fail. When that happens it may not supply adequate fuel to the injectors and the fuel pressure will suffer.

Check the fuel pressure using a fuel pressure test tool. You can typically rent those from any of your local auto parts store. You should have 60-66 PSI of fuel pressure.

I have attached the diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
