I have a 1996 Chevy Cavalier with 159,000 miles. When its warm outside my car shuts off while im driving. I sit for for awhile then it cranks back up. It only happens when its warm outside. It doesnt show any indication of it overheating or anything. Ive had a new oxygen sensor, coil pack, etc. Ive been to 5 different people even the dealership and no one knows whats wrong with it. Dealership said it was fuel pump but come to find out it wasnt. Could it be the battery? I havent had it changed in 5 years. Please help me I dont know what to do! Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I have a '99 cavalier and I have noticed that it tends to run hot, especially in the heat down here in south Florida. If you turn the heat on high, it will cool the engine down and stop your car from overheating. As much as it sucks to have the heat on in 90 degree weather, you need to either speed up(go on the highway) to get that fan cooling off the engine better.I think the breeze must help cool off the engine as well, or you have to turn the heat on and roll with the windows down.
