my 96 has a 5.7L vin code R. I need to replace upper and lower oil cooling lines. I was seeing if there was anything I need to remove to get the lines in and out. I was thinking maybe the plastic cover under the radiator from the bottom and maybe the fan shroud. But I'm not sure. This truck is a daily driver and can't be down too long.

Thanks

Hi:
There is nothing that has to be removed. However, what you suggested will make the job easier. I do recommend, however, to disconnect the battery before working on it. The cooling lines run near the starter and could short.
