1995 Chevy Truck fuel tank

I patched the fuel tank in this truck and after the feul guage stopped working.As time went on the truck acually got harder to start to the point were I'd have to give it gas to start even though its injected by throttle body.I plan on replacing the filter but still not sure why the feul guage doesn't work.

Sounds like a bad or missing ground between the tank and frame.
