help me figure out why I can't break loose the drive shaft from the rear differential

after you have removed the four bolts, . You will have to take a prybar and put it through the yoke, most likely the U-joints are pressed in very tight, if you have a carrier bearing in the middle of your driveshaft. You will have to unbolt it from the chassis before removing the driveline from the rear end.
