I just bought 1990 chevy truck with v6.
It will start with a very high idle, then idles down and cuts off. I have replaced throttle body gasket, control valve on the throttle body. Still does same.
Any ideas??

Check and test the fuel pressure, clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensor-to include the EGR valve-
