Transmission problem
1990 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic n/a miles

ive recently put a different motor in my truck and it runs fine but my transmission was making a clicking noise I came to figure out that my bolts were loose on the torque converter. I tightened them up and it stopped making noise for about 3 days then all of a suddent the clicking came back. I checked the bolts again and they are all tight. Ive tried to put new bolts in and that hasnt fixed it?

Hi there,

I would be looking at the flex plate, this may now be cracked as a result of the loose torque converter bolts.

Hi, I looked at the flex plate and I unbolted the torque converter to check for cracks and nothing. The clicking is still there. Whenever I give the truck gas either in park or in gear the clicking goes away. But as soon as the pressure comes off the clicking comes back

Hi there, this is not lifter noise or a small exhaust leak by chance, you can get a tick noise from both these,

Yeah, there is no lifter noise or exhaust leak. I got a new transmission so I'm just going to install that but thank you for the advice
