I have a 1989 chevy corsica 2.5 fuel injected that has 203,000 miles on it, and it keeps stalling on me when I have to come to a complete stop. I restart it and have to keep gving it the gas in order for it to keep running. I had the battery replaced, and the alternator was checked and it's okay. What else could it be? This happens alot when I have my accessories on such as my defroster, or radio, but it can happen any other time also. Could it be a bad fuel filter? Please help me as this is my only means of transportation, and I would love to keep this car for about 3 more years if possible. Thanks so much everyone!

If u have no driveability issue except idling. Then it point pretty much to a vac leak or idle stepper motor ctrl problem.U need a real mechanic to fix it for u. But keeping it for 3 more year. Yes. Its possible but not probable when repair cost more than a car worth.

I have had the same problem. With old corsicas when the battery or what not is replaced, you must reset the idle computer, in order to do this without talking it to a shop, simply start your car and put it in drive and hold the brake and let it sit there for about 10-15 minuts, doing this will reset your computer. This is what I did and it worked for me.

You're talking about the idle relearn. I tried that on my car and it didn't work. Could you please explain in detail how you did it. I have the same problem
