Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic
My truck over heated and now I think that there's water in my oil. What should I do? Where should I start with? Should I just do an oil change?

Start the vehicle let it warm up to operating temp and then carefully open the radiator cap to check for bubbles and smell for exhaust gas, chances are overheating caused it to crack the head or ruin the head gasket. If the car pops when its normal temp or stutters chances are its a head problem and an oil change will not help. The obvious sign of water in the oil is milky looking stuff on the bottom of the dipstick. Take it to a shop and a head job will probably cost you several hundred dollars.
