1986 Chevy Truck Very Hard Start in cold weather

It takes a lot of cranking to get it started in cold weather. Once started, it will re-start quickly. It starts normally in warm weather.

Sounds like your choke is not setting. When it is cold pull off the air cleaner and check to see if the choke closes like it is supposed to when you push the throottle all the way down. It could be a simple as the linkage bound up or hung up.
