1974 Chevy Truck engine oil in automatic trans

1974 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100K miles

My son mistakenly put one quart of engine oil in the automatic transmission. Is it safe to drive it about 20 miles to the repair shop, or does it need to be towed?

Just drain the transmission fluid by disconnecting the input cooler line from the transmission cooler while engine is running and at the same time be filling as it drains till you feel its cleared up-
