1970 Chevy Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Why does my truck cut off when its idle? I have to keep pumping the gas to keep it running.

Check and adjust ignition timing and A/F mixture and curb idle speed could be loading up with a partially closed choke plate.
