Truck starts and immediately shuts off. Any ideas?

This a stock 65? what engine? points ignition?

Turn key On check for battery voltage on the coil positive terminal do you have it-if not the ignition circuit is open or you have a defective ignition switch-
Or do this get a jumper wire connect one end to the coil positive terminal and the other to the battery positive post-did it continue to run if so check and test above-
