01 Cavalier thumping, shaky steering wheel...

I don't know anything about cars, maybe someone here can help me...

2001 Chevy Cavalier 2 door coupe

steering wheel shakes, thumping noise felt while driving

no flat tires

any ideas?

I appreciate your help, but it shakes constantly, not just when I brake.
