Electrical problem
2005 Chevy Trailblazer V8 Automatic 92,000 miles

oil gauge working fine and then it went up to 80lbs pressure and then when I turned it off it went down to 40. Now it is stuck all the way to the end of the gauge.

checked the oil oil is fine and oil change is not due for 6 weeks. How do you check to see if it is the sensor or the gauge is is broke. What should be a fair price for repair.

THe oil sending unit is located near the oil filter. It just inscrews from the engine and then you replace it with the new one. It is easy, and the part should be under 20.00.
