When attempting to place my 2003 Trailblazer in anything other than 2WD, I hear a grinding noise. This happens with AWD and 4WD alike. Any thoughts as to what may be the problem and what the cost of repair may be? Thanks in advance.

Your transfer case is computer controlled and if not working it is either the fuse, or it has a stored code, get the codes read! The other thing to check is the oil level, to check it you take the plug out of the case and the oil should be even with the bottom of the plug hole....fill with the same fluid as tranny, they share same fluid!
