2002 Chevy Trailblazer Code P0601

Service Engine Soon light was on. Had code scanned at Autozone. The code is P0601. They informed me that means my ECM, somtimes called PCM is bad and a replacement is 287.99. Can someone confirm the code definition for me? Is this something I can replace myself. I have some mechanical ability.

this is the code definition,This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the powertrain control module (PCM). This diagnostic also addresses if the PCM is not programmed. looking at the diagnostic flow chart,if only p0601 is set then replace the ECM.its easy to replace it,you have to have it programmed after replacement.
