1988 Chevy Trailblazer back fireing and high idle

1988 Chevy Trailblazer 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When I start the motor it is at a high idle and then it goes to a slower idle then back fires in the throtle body and motor dies

Clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensors and also check the fuel pressure and look for vacuum leaks-
