How to install valve cover gasket on 2.0 engine?

Advertisement
1.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2.Remove the throttle body and intake manifold.
3.Remove the ignition coil cover.
4.Disconnect the ignition coil couplers.
5.Remove the ignition coils.
6.Remove the 4 nuts on the camshaft cover.
7.Remove the camshaft cover.
To install:
1.Clean the sealing surfaces on the camshaft cover and the cylinder head.
2.Apply GM P/N 12346240 or equivalent to the cylinder head at the points indicated.
3.Install the new camshaft cover gasket to the camshaft cover.
4.Install the new cylinder head side seals to the cylinder head.
5.Install the camshaft cover to the cylinder head.
6.Using new seal washers, tighten the 4 nuts on the camshaft cover to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).
7.Install the ignition coils.
8.Connect the ignition couplers.
9.Install the ignition coil cover.
10.Install the throttle body and intake manifold.
11.Connect the negative battery cable.

3.Remove the ignition coil cover.
4.Disconnect the ignition coil couplers.
5.Remove the ignition coils.
6.Remove the 4 nuts on the camshaft cover.
7.Remove the camshaft cover.
To install:
