What is the cost to replace the Fuel Sending unit.

I called a dealer a shop and they both quoted around $900.00.
Also, is this something that would be covered under warranty

Dealer maybe replacing entire fuel unit including pump that would be @$900. Not sure about warreny believe it was 36mo- 36000miles. You can ask GM rep number in owners manual or on line

OK, that makes more sense. One more question then. My mechanic says he usually replaces the fuel pump at the same time. What is the downside if I don't replace the fuel pump and just address the sender?
