Check engine light is on. Code read knock sensor bank 2. Replaced spark plugs, used high octane fuel & added octane booster. Is there any other thing that could be causing the code besides the actual knock sensor? Is replacement hard? Should I replace both knock sensors?

The repair can be complicated if you are not experience. You did not post the code up on here to verify if it is a knock sensor code? So I am going to assume you have code PO332? If that is the case You will need to remove the intake manifold to access the knock sensors. Once you remove the intake you need to inspect the wiring for damage. Sometimes rats get under there and they love eating copper wire? If wiring is ok then replace the sensor. Just make sure you mark the connectors. If you cross the connectors and install it on the wrong knock sensor you can damage the engine. Also once you are in there I would recommend you just do both knock sensors because of the labor involved to replace just one sensor. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi thank you for your service,
i have a Chevy Tahoe 2004 and the engine light is on since yesterday, I took it to autozone and the code is po332, the ticket they gave me say to replace the knock sensors, my question is if you can tell me how much will cost in a dealer or mechanic to replace them?
Just to have an idea how much I need to spend. Please tell me the price in parts and labor. Thank you.

I am not sure what the part costs, but the job calls for 2.5 hours labor to r&r the knock sensor. So the shops hourly rate times 2.5 plus whatever the sensor costs.

I believe the knock sensor without but the engine will not even turn over. But when I put a code reader up it comes up p0332. Can you tell me should I check for anything else or should I just replace the knock sensor? Thank you.

What happens when you try to turn it over. Do you here a click, does nothing happen, or does it crank and crank with no resistance at all?

My Tahoe 5.3L had code p0332 and p0327 both KS. I replaced and replaced the harness. Cleared codes light came back on same codes. Replaced with reprogrammed pcm again light comes back same code. Checked resistance is good through wire all the way back to pcm went ahead and spliced in new wires from pcm to ks harness plug. Again still have ks codes. Pulled intake took out knock sensors retorqued and still have codes for both ks. I am at a loss here what to do the pins for the pcm are good both male and female and doublt I have 2 faulty pcms and 2 faulty Knock sensors that were new? The only thing I have not tried is to go with delco KS instead of aftermarket but why change if I get good resistance? I am not sure how to check voltage for these since its a 1 wire setup for each ks I assume the pcm sends a signal and grounds as well? Anyway any advice you have I would appreciate it greatly. I have no other codes occasionally I will get a evap malfunction code but do not think these are related. There is no engine ping or knock either runs fine.

Thereis a tsb on this you have to build a siliicone shield around knock sensor or it willgive same codeagain. I'm including pics and hope you can enlarge enough to read.

The damn you built is only supposed to go around the back side and not completely, also the foam on theintake manifold is supposed to be removed. I don't know if yo have done that as well. One other ting I hfound in tsb is the ground for pcm on right cylhead either at frt or rear is corroded, you have to clean all contact areas and then put a protective over it to stop corrosion. I can't think of anything else to tell you knock sensors don't operate by resistance they operate by something else which I can think of.

Yea got the silicone dam correct and yes they do have a resistance value which both spec out 99k on ohm scale. I will take a look at the grounds. I think that I read somewhere people were having issues using an aftermarket part instead of ac delco?
