2004 Chevy Tahoe Service 4WD light

The service 4WD light comes on each time I put the vehicle in 4WD. I have no owners manual and no idea where to start with this problem. the 4WD is not working and is really needed.

We need to start at the begining. Have you checked to see if there is power to the actuator on the transfer case? Have you checked for vacuum to the front axle?
