2004 Chevy Tahoe Roaring noise

There is a roaring type noise when I turn on the AC for the first time for the day. It only does it for 3 seconds then stops. It will not do it again for the rest of the day, but will do it again when I turn it on for the next time the following day. I don't get it.

This just may be as faulty drive belt for the A/C compressor, i would replace the belt if it is over a few years old, start here.
