2004 Chevy Tahoe Disappearing coolant

My Tahoe keeps losing antifreeze but there does not seem to be a leak. We had a pressure test done by a mechanic and he never found anything leaking. What is going on and what should I do to fix it?

It is possible that either the head is cracked/warped or the head gasket is faulty. This would cause coolant to be burned in the combustion chamber and travel out the tail pipe. If an excessive amount were being consumed, it would likely cause the vehicle to emit smoke out the tail pipe. Pull your engine oil dipstick and inspect the oil on it. If it looks milky then the coolant is mixing with it, another sign of head or head gasket issues.

Had the same problem and it was a cracked head. Had heads replaced and that stopped but now has an engine skip. I think there were a lot of problems with this year model.

I've heard its possible that if the engine has run a good while a slow drip at the water pump will actually evaperate on the hot engine before it hits the ground, thus no pool under vehicle.
