I need to replace the upper intermediate shaft in my tahoe. This is a GM fix for sterring "clunking". I am not 100% on how to do this and was wondering if you have a step by step for it. The one's i have found on the internet have confused me as to which part i am replacing. Thank you

Check your email I will send you what I have on it. The other question is, does your steering bind on return? And the noise is NOT coming from the front of the truck? There is also a tech bulletin for adding a hardened washer at the crossmember.

I got the diagram. Thank you, that is perfect. The steering doesn't bind on return. The noise sounds like it is coming from the dash when turning, or hitting bumps.

Tilt whell? Could be a bearing further up the column, especially with 180,000 miles.

I am about to attempt replacing the shaft. I have looked at it, and it looks really easy, however I have one question. I see the APP, but where are the bolts to remove it? I see one bolt near the bottom of the metal housing that appears to hold everything including the accelerator in place. There is another bolt near the top, but there is no easy way to get a ratchet in there. Am I supposed to remove the pedal before removing the APP? Thank you
